You might notice some new bottles on the shelves this week. I was quite nervous about making this change, as I’m so accustomed to the utility jugs. However, what convinced me to try these new “bags” is that they are made in the USA, BPA-free, and produced by a veteran-owned company. We’ve tested the bags ourselves, and we absolutely love them! This week is bittersweet as our steer, Fern, heads to the butcher next Tuesday. People often ask how I can hand-raise an animal, name it, and care for it for over two years, only to ultimately eat it. My response is always the same: Fern has lived a beautiful life, filled with love. Like all of us, he serves a purpose, and his final role will be to nourish our children. Providing for my family in this way is a blessing I deeply appreciate.

Farming isn’t always easy and isn’t for everyone, but I take pride in Fern and in the fact that our children will witness this process from beginning to end.

Its official milk is out for sale at chesapeakesbounty! We of course have limited quantities but more will go out later this afternoon.

Brand new pump parts and tubing installed and I can officially say this time next week milk will be out for sale!

We are 2 weeks away from ending this 6 month quarantine and being able to stock the shelves again with our raw pet milk! To say I am excited is an understatement. Not only that but we are also well into our kidding season and will be posting available babies for sale.

The wait is almost over! Pet milk will be available again starting 4/24! We will be starting out slow and only offering milk at chesapeakesbounty. We anticipate our milk will sell fast but we are hoping by summer we can expand into other areas and open up home delivery again. We appreciate everyone who has supported us during this crazy journey and we are so excited to start serving our community again!

A snow storm won’t stop us! William Kreamer is amazing for getting me to the girls safely so I could milk and restock their waters. The snow makes everything so beautiful!
