Garden update! This morning while watering, I thought I'd share the progress we have made.

We officially have 3 pumpkins growing. A few of our zucchini plants are coming in strong. And our tomato and jalapeño plants are flowering.

We still have this mystery plant (i'm pretty sure its corn) that has yet to show anything, except getting taller.

Well, everything's a learning process. I've debated posting about this for the past day, but it's with heavy hearts that we said goodbye to our Blue Laced Wyandotte, Duchess. We found her yesterday in the nesting boxes. She was from our 2nd addition to the flock.

We think the heat got to her as she was trying to lay her egg. All goes to say, if you think you have enough ventilation systems, add at least 2 more. We have been consistently in the upper 90's for about a week, and our initial ventilation system couldn't keep up. Tonight I installed 4 more vents to help reduce the heat in our coop.

RIP Duchess.

Exciting things are happening! We have officially got our own custom egg cartons! This may seem like a small thing, but it's important to us that people know what they are getting from us. Dm's are open for orders!

The new flock has made it! Thank you to the McCaslin family for reaching out to us about adopting their flock. They will be spoiled and are already running around the run checking ot their new home.

Finally got a good picture of the chicks. 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Blue Stars, 1 Delaware, and 1 Olive Egger. We are super excited to get them integrated to the flock in due time.

This morning I harvested a pumpkin. Yes, it is supposed to be that small. I gave it to the ladies, as pumpkin is a natural dewormer for them.

I also wanted to show Rae's herb garden. She already harvested the thyme, but the basil and cilantro are coming in nicely.
