Lots of variety today! Locally harvested wild Maitake (Hen of the woods) and even a little Lion’s Mane! We only forage from pristine woods where no pesticides or herbicides have ever been sprayed. Our wild mushrooms are from spots we have been picking and eating from for many, many years.

Also today, we got our first farm grown (on logs) Nameko of the season! And, of course, log grown shiitake. Lots of healthy mushrooms to add great flavor to all those fall dishes! 🤤

I used to never eat shiitakes. I just always bought portabella mushrooms and sometimes white button (not knowing that they were actually the same mushroom!). I can’t believe I missed out on years of shiitake eating! These earthy, flavorful mushrooms are versatile in all types of dishes and (here’s the best part) they are one of the healthiest culinary mushrooms out there!! I use them the same way I used to use portabella and my dishes are better than ever! You can’t eat the stems (well technically you could, they are just chewy) but I love to save them and use them in my soup stock. I’m getting excited for those fall soups! 🤤
