We put 34 cows out to pasture today on the Finney Farm. They are pregnant and in their second period so we should have a whole mess of calves at the end of the summer. These are some fine looking cows and should do great!

While I was out walking the fenceline, one of the bulls came strolling through and crossed the creek. It was a fun sight to see.

We have 34 cows and 3 bulls on this farm.

This videos is about turning out 16 cows and a bull onto lush pasture. It is early June 2019 and the grass is out of control! It is awesome.... about waist high since we have had tons of rain this year.

Our plan is to let these 16 cows out and have the bull get them pregnant. We hope to put about 16 more similar cows and then add two bulls to the mix.

The goal is to sell them off at the end of the year as first or second period cows. Somebody else will buy them to have calves in the early part of 2020.

This year was a test-planting of a popcorn variety. Looks like it has performed well enough to plant full-scale next yea...
