This planting season was a challenge, not one we weren't up for though! What seemed like endless mechanical issues may have slowed us down a bit, but it'll never stop us fully. We're grateful to say we've got all our seed in the ground for 2026. Here's to watching it grow 🍻🌱

We sure are getting buried out here from all that snow the last day or so! I hope everyone living in town knows how lucky they are to have some buildings and trees around to block all this wind! Farmer Kent had to come out late last night, and again this morning, to do some plowing and cleanup around the farm, and we sure are thankful to all of the regular plow drivers and good citizens who help keep our roads safe and clear during this winter storms. Stay warm and stay safe out there! For our first snow this year it sure was a good one.

The drifts just about swallowed up all around Sabrina's greenhouse!

Here is the post everyone has been waiting for: The Harvest Summary!

While we are so thankful to be seeing this year come to a close, our 2025 harvest was a good one for us at Bickett Farms.

We were hoping for a higher soybean yield, but we are still pleased with what we brought in. Our corn yield was very good, with us bringing in 30,000 wet yield bushels of corn! With the drought the area faced this year, we saw our bean yield and our corn moisture take a small hit.

However! Our final Overall Purity was .5%! We sent 40,000 high purity bushels onto barges that will deliver our product to Japan!

The end of the year always brings about change and renewal, as the turn of the season washes away the rest of the year. We have been taking this time as things settle down and change again to evaluate our operation and goals as a family farm today. Please be looking forward to hearing about new and upcoming plans we have going into next year!

Good morning, great morning. Last night out on the farm, with so little light pollution, it made all of our first times seeing the northern lights just that much more special. Did anyone else get some wild pictures last night? This was by far one of the coolest things I have ever had happen to me :))

I ran out early this afternoon with Sabrina to take a look around the bin site, on one of these beautiful final days of harvest. She talked me through the way the corn moves around the bins; from the moment our semi's drop off the crop through the hopper bottom, onto the conveyer belt that leads to the wet bin, from there to the dryer, and then to where they wait for transport once they finish in the dryer. I always find it so interesting how many moving parts there are, literally and otherwise! 🌽🌽

Now with less than 80 acres to go, tomorrow should be our final day of harvest this year. We are so excited to be finished up and get to take a breath, one that isn't full of corn dust. I would love to hype up everyone for their hard work this season and ask that if you have a moment, that you might leave an encouraging comment for our team. I know I sure am proud of everyone 📢📢
