The time has come, like every year.
We are reducing our flock for the winter.
We have pullets available (hatched 07/03 this year) $25
1-2 year old laying hens $20.

There is so much bad going on in the world, at least that's what we usually hear first.

So today I want to hear your funny stories from your farm or family or pets.

Here is mine:
We have a large pen with an area around our chicken coop where our 2 Great Pyrenees and 3 goats roam free. We also have our older chickens "free-ranging" in there together with the ones that are in time out for disruptive coop behavior.

In the morning at feeding time, we HAVE to feed the goats first!
Then we take the dog food into the pen and this is when the fun begins!

EVERYBODY wants dog food!!! 😅🤣😂
The minute we enter the coop with the bucket the chickens and our guinea are stopping whatever they are doing and demanding dog food. They even take it directly out of the bucket when we have to set it down to close the gate.
Our two GP's have to be fed separately because of food territory, so we take the bucket to the other end of the pen for Loki and there we are with a small army of chickens following...
Then we go feed Odin and again, the whole army follows the bucket until we FINALLY drop a scoop of dog food on the ground.
Even if we drop dog food first when we come in, they STILL follow the bucket.

So this is our every morning funny...

And the July hatchlings have now been moved to the main coop.
These are ALL barnyard mixes, not pur bred.
The circle of raising chickens is now completed.
brooder-> transitition coop-> main coop.

These will be available for purchase and should be start laying in the next 2 month.

We have eggs are available, egg stand is still only half done, this years hatchlings are growing and some laid their first egg :-)
