Unfortunately I have some bad news to share ...
When we opened the farm stand, one of our goals was to be a place for everyone to find local products from as many farms as possible so that other farmers would have another place to sell their products, and we would all benefit from having great local food.
A few years ago we announced that we were partnering with other local farms and chicken owners to keep up with the demand for eggs in the farm stand. It's worked out great for them since they don't have farm stands, and it's worked out great for us because before that, we were constantly running out.
Last night a kind customer let me know that they received some bad eggs. I just cracked the rest of the supply that I had picked up from another farm on Saturday, and while many of them were lovely, there were also several poor quality eggs throughout. I've contacted the other farm and they are diligently working to figure out what went wrong and how to keep it from happening in the future. Each of the farms we've worked with take great care of their chickens as well as their eggs, so this was an unfortunate and unintentional mistake.
I'm happy to refund any of you that may have received poor quality eggs, and I'm so sorry this happened.
For now, we'll only be selling our own eggs so we can insure you get the best product we can provide. The downside is that there will be a lot less eggs available, and I may not notice we're sold out and flip over the "eggs" sign in time before someone stops and finds the fridge empty. But, obviously, quality is our top priority.
The farm stand has been pretty empty this summer as we've had our hands full, and we've been selling all our farm fresh goodies at The Pittsford Area REKO Ring each week. But we have some great plans of new products to bring you in the coming months when this summer rush calms down.
Please accept our sincerest apologies, and know that we appreciate each one of you so much! β€οΈ
