My whole youth, I was always so embarrassed about how much taller I was than the other girls and that my shoulders were so broad. Until one day, I was sitting on the kitchen counter at my stepmom’s (Summer) house and an absolute angel of a woman(Juanita) complimented my shoulders. I was so taken back because that was the first time I had ever heard it as a positive thing. I have always tried to make myself less noticeable. Draw less attention, be smaller, etc.. although the second picture still makes me uncomfortable. I am just so grateful for an able body and the ability to do hard things! Even more so hearing my daughter repeatedly tell me how proud she was of me. To me that means she’s learning that She can do hard things too!
