Last Thursday, Prosper first responders answered a call for a resident who suffered a heart attack while mowing his yard. Our crews acted quickly to stabilize and transport him to the hospital, where he underwent a successful cardiac procedure and is now recovering.

The story doesn't end when the ambulance leaves.

Noticing the resident’s front lawn was left half-mowed, Battalion Chief Jason Graham quietly grabbed the mower, finished the job, cleaned up the yard, and secured the home before heading back to the station.

Jason didn't do it for recognition, he simply saw a neighbor in need and stepped up. This is what servant leadership looks like in Prosper.

Public Notice: Update Regarding Project Tomahawk Hearing

The public hearing for Project Tomahawk, previously scheduled for the August 18 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting, has been removed from the agenda.

Town officials and staff are using this time to gather additional information, review technical data, and thoroughly evaluate all facts regarding the proposed data center near FM 1385 and Parvin Road. Protecting residents' quality of life remains the Town's top priority, and any proposal will be held to our normal strict standards regarding traffic, infrastructure, and municipal services.

The hearing has not been rescheduled at this time. Should the project move forward to a future meeting, official notices will be mailed, and agendas will be posted in advance at https://prosper-tx.municodemeetings.com/.

We appreciate the community’s continued engagement as we work to ensure responsible growth in Prosper.

UPDATE 8/5: Due to a delay in material deliveries, the First Street closure has been extended by one day. The closure will now remain in effect through Thursday, August 6. We appreciate your patience as this work is completed.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: First Street will be closed between Mike Howard Lane and Coleman Street from Monday, August 3, through Wednesday, August 5 while BNSF installs new railroad crossing panels and the Town's contractor completes utility crossings.

Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time if you're traveling through the area.
