Formed in 2012, Providence Soda Club aims to provide information regarding various soda-pop brands and soda culture that may be limited due to geography and the distribution networks of regional soda pop companies. While members of the Soda Club often enjoy some of the sodas produced by the dominant soda companies of the globe, they strive to find smaller companies producing high quality drinks an
d make their offerings better known to fans of carbonated beverages in the Northeast and beyond! The primary events of the PVD Soda Club are its “Soda Socials.” The group convenes at rotating venues in R.I with a different theme for each social such as, “Northeast Regional Sodas”, “Defunct Soda Brands”, or simply just “Cola.” The socials are advertised through flyering, and local media networks and are open to the public. At each social there are samples to try, some informational presentations and histories, and occasionally even live music. In addition to the Soda Socials, the soda-connoisseurs or “sodaeliers” of the group also review soda products from around the globe (and even back in time for defunct brands) and publish their findings through social media and a locally produced “soda-zine” available in Providence, R.I. stores for free. Everyone has different tastes in their soda choices, so we try to reflect this with multiple opinions of each drink we review, as well as poll-based feedback that we gather from the samples tasted at our soda socials. Whether you are a fan of soda looking for a quirky and fun way to socialize with like-minded enthusiasts, or you are a regional soda company looking for to share your product with an eager audience, the Providence Soda Club is a one-of-a-kind organization devoted to soda culture that welcome you to join in on the fun!
