Last year was tough, we lost some friends and relatives who were very close to us. Day of the Dead is an opportunity to take time to remember those who’ve passed away. Start off by deciding who you’d like to remember and learn or teach your family a little bit more about them. 🤍

Last year, we interviewed several of the people we’ve connected with , Day of the Dead is fast approaching. And as it does I recognize that people of other cultures are discovering and very much appreciate this beautiful tradition.

Nicole’s sweet experience of what prompted her to incorporate this tradition in her life is just one example of someone who discovered it later in life.

Did you grow up celebrating this tradition or are you like some of us who started to most recently?

I didn’t grow up celebrating Day of the Dead, it wasn’t until a few years ago that it became something I wanted to learn more about and celebrate in our home.

Tag 3 friends who celebrate Día de Los Mu**to, and tell us what sparked your desire to learn more about this tradition! 💫

Have you spotted them at the market yet? Or maybe you grew them in your garden?

I planted some marigolds that I got from earlier this year. They didn’t all make it through the hot summer. But I love them nonetheless. They remind of of the flowers in the Mexico City flower markets. I love this time of year in MX.

Remember our trip to Mercado Jamaica?

Baby no. 5 is almost 3 and still loves to snuggle like in this picture! He melts our hearts! They all do! (ESP. when they’re not fighting!)

Mexican dresses are a staple in my Mamá closet. We sn**ch them up on trips to Mexico. I completely recognize that beauty come from within, but these artisan textiles always make me feel connected to my heritage and beautiful!

Do you collect something that connects you to your heritage? If yes, please share!🤍 If not, what would you like to collect?

Our Pan de Mu**to is rising.

Why take the class when you can buy it at the Panaderia?

Such a good question! I’m not going to say I haven’t don’t the same. But here’s my honest opinion. Homemade pan de Mu**to is hands down my favorite!

From oven to table, with a side of chocolatito caliente. 🤍
