Going to rant for just a moment.

A bill was recently introduced in the Colorado legislature that would require pet owners to pay a fee that would, in part, support animal shelters. I, personally, feel this was not a great idea and therefore emailed my representative. This email was a polite request that they oppose this bill. No big deal.

That is how the system is supposed to work. Ideas are brought forward, people have healthy dialog, and decisions are made.

A very unfortunate event was reported on the news this evening. I am ashamed of how people attacked the sponsor of this bill. Threats are NEVER okay when contacting your elected officials. You may express a difference of opinion or even be angry about what is happening.

Treat people with respect especially when you disagree.
