Vrooman Family Farm In their natural environment, herbivores (i.e., cows) belong on grass. Wild pigs tend to roam in brush/woodland environments in order forage on the undergrowth.

We are a small family-owned farm that tries to emphasize quality and integrity, and we believe a big component of that is raising each particular animal in their natural environment. Chickens, along with other bird species, tend to follow herbivores in a natural pattern where they eat the bugs and insects, which are attracted to manure laid down by the herbivore. On our farm, we try to mimic these

patterns found in the natural world and believe our customers can see the difference in the quality of the meat. In addition to foraging, we supply our pigs and chickens with non-GMO grain to supplement their diet. We always invite our customers to come out and visit our farm so they can see the difference for themselves.

$4.25 per pound on the hanging weight for the quarters

Plus you pay the butcher $.50-60 cents per pound

Farm help wanted. Please call (315) 383-4641 if interested.

Need help for morning chores, around 8am. Approximately 6 hrs a day, 5 days a week. Clean horse stalls, maintain small livestock (pigs/chickens), help with various other farm chores. Must have own transportation.

We are accepting deposits/ orders now for bulk pork, chicken and turkey (sorry, we are already almost filled up for beef orders) for the season. Call 315-298-5566 with questions. Send a facebook message if you would like a PDF of the order form. You can print it out and mail it (or stop by if local) with your deposit. Chicken will be ready early summer and pork early fall.

Happy Saturday! Our hens are almost done with their "winter break" and have started laying again. Still limited quantities, but we're slowly building back up! Stop by for some fresh eggs, $4 doz ($3.50 if you give us back a clean empty carton).

Video of of our layer chicks. They're getting bigger! Ready to move to a bigger space in the barn before they go to their mobile coop in the pasture! They need to get big enough and it needs to warm up more before they go outside. Fresh eggs come summertime!

Our little ladies are here! We just got our 125 baby laying hens in this week! Come this summer we will have an abundance of fresh free-range eggs! If you're wondering about what breeds they are, this year we have good mix of Rhode Island Red, Americana (green eggs!), and Australorp.
