For all that have expressed interest in our beautiful colored silkies...Thank you very much for all the comment and interest. we have developed a process over the years of trial and many errors, that involves a few trade secrets that we would rather not share, we get colors that last 6 months to a year using totally non toxic food grade colors. The same can be accomplished although not as long lasting with a bath and a rinse with very very strong koolaid AND A BLOW DRY.
If you plan on trying this at home...BE CAREFUL. chickens do not hold their breath. keep their heads above water at all times. and once bathed , blow dry immediately. COLD IS NOT THEIR FRIEND.
