It's the last day of work before the fall semester starts for these two. We've had a smaller crew this summer and are so thankful for the hard work that Bill and Anufat put into the farm!
And, we're excited to see some of the new and returning students next week. We've got 10 weeks left of our field season with lots of veggies and fruit getting harvest.

New this week at Moscow Food Co-op! Tomatoes and our famous cut-top carrots land tomorrow. You can still find plenty of lettuce mix, cucumbers, and summer squash to keep you summer veggie list complete.

The first local heirloom tomatoes have arrived! 🤤
Organic, ridiculously good, and grown locally by Affinity Farm (ID) and the WSU Organic Farm (WA). Slice, salt, devour. But don't wait — get 'em while they last!

Final carrots and beet seeding went in the ground last week! We're about a week from starting to harvest both of these summer root crop staples. The farm's pretty well planted out now and things are starting to really speed up with the recent heat.
I'll let you know when the carrots hit the Moscow Food Co-op and the beets make it to Maialina Pizzeria Napoletana

If you're looking to get veggies from the farm, head on over to Moscow Food Co-op!! Not only do they now have cucumber, zucchini, and cabbage, but also our famous lettuce mix. We deliver twice a week so you should be getting as fresh as possible. We've been selling to the Co-op for just over 20 years and love our partnership!

We've got Hoop House 2 and 3 completely planted now to summer tomatoes and cucumbers! Glad to finally get some good heat. The last 4 weeks were rough for all these tender plants, but they pulled through great and we should start seeing the first cucumbers hit the Moscow Food Co-op soon!

We have some great news! Our lovely alumni donors, Jim and Sue, have set up an endowment for the farm. They've been very generous over the last few years and now have added a long-term funding source for the farm to keep up with our teaching and community-based mission.

We have students in our program from the Marianas that are actively fund raising for relief. Water is of the highest priority. Please consider helping out these hard-hit communities from the recent Super Typhoon.

We're hosting a workshop next week on our lettuce production but we'll also get to show off our new solar powered ventilation system on the high tunnels!
