Update on my "glowing caterpiller" experiment...

It worked! 😊

A few of my lisianthus look like the tips may have gotten too cold, but I only had small candles in that tunnel so they only had 3-4 hours of additional heat. The other tunnel had a bigger candle that burned all night and everything in that tunnel looks great!

My tunnels are a bit dirty looking, but I think a nice rain should fix that problem. 🌧

My peonies appear to be fine too. I won't know for sure until they bloom, but they don't appear to be damaged.

Guess I'll find out if my "glowing caterpillars" provided enough heat and protection from the cold for my plants to surv...

It was 21° this morning. 🥶

Last night everything outside the low tunnels looked frozen when it was 30°.

I'm a little behind with posting, but the blooms are beginning! I love these ruffled peachy daffodils!

The chickens would like a moment of recognition before the flowers steal the spotlight. 🐓

When they aren't busy laying eggs, they enjoy people watching, directing traffic, un-mulching flowers beds, and looking for bugs! If you stop by, they're sure to give you a friendly welcome, and may attempt to hold you hostage in exchange for extra feed or leftovers. 😂

I tried something new this year... flowers in December!

Christmas is quickly approaching, and these paperwhites will soon be blooming! Brighten the shortest days of the year with flowers!

They would make great gifts and are scheduled to bloom around Christmas time to early January. Buy one for yourself and one for a friend!
