How to keep your flowers fresh - here are a few tips:

• Recut all the steps using sharp scissors or a knife about one inch from the bottom.
• Remove any leaves or flowers that will be below the water line in the vase, so that this material does not rot in the container.
• Use only clean vases or other containers, which should be filled at least halfway with water.
• Check your flowers every day and remove flowers past their primes, or dead leaves. Recut stems, and change the water every three days.
• Keep your flowers as cool as possible—not in a sunny west window or near a furnace vent. Be sure that they are not near fruit or vegetables; they produce a ripening hormone called ethylene which will make your flowers mature too quickly.

Now… come pick some flowers and practice practice practice! And don’t forget to pick up some honey for your honey too.

One more thing… Fields of Flowers is holding another pottery / craft sale on Sept 11, 10 to 4. Please come out and support your local artists.

Why buy local flowers? Why buy local honey? There are many reasons but here are just two:

They Support the Local Economy
The production and sale of locally-grown cut flowers contribute to a community’s economy, and provide employment and valuable agriculture experience to many.

They Make You Feel Better!
Flowers reduce stress and improve your mood. Flowers can be connected to a memory of a time, a place, a person, a season, an event. They have a story, and you are part of it. And honey just tastes good!
😊😃😁

Yellow! 🌼🌼

Yellow is associated with the intellect, logic; it has the ability to improve analytical thinking. It is also linked with cheerfulness, happiness, optimism. It inspires hope, enthusiasm. Yellow fosters positive way of thinking, as well as a thirst for knowledge. There are other meanings of yellow of course, but for now, we’re going with this one! …And then… there are those optimistic, enthusiastic, little yellow-striped honeybees making Hound Haven Honey for sale here at Fields of Flowers. Let some optimism in! 😊

Do you still have pick your own flowers today? Thanks!
I just shared about your farm on Style Insiders with Sam Tunador. We had a great visit yesterday.
Do you have sunflowers yet?
This is one of the bouquets I made from the flowers I cut in your fields on Friday. I assembled another to give away. You have beautiful land and flowers and I enjoyed speaking to Nat who had so much knowledge. Great place for an outing and a great way to freshen up your decor.
Are small, leashed dogs allowed to come to the farm? Thanks!
What a beautiful place! Picked these today - so lovely! Will definitely be back.
Here’s that grasshopper I was mentioning !
Thank you 💙💐
Do y'all anticipate having any flowers mid October?!
Spent the afternoon in my happy place picking these beauties!! Beautiful place!!
Thank you for having us
We loved our visit to Fields of Flowers!
