We are bringing the cows in for the last time. A hugely bittersweet day at Moutoux Orchard- our last day milking these wonderful cows.
Ending dairying is the right decision for us, but it is sad and hard and we are going to miss having these ladies around. These animals have given us so much over the years and fed our family and our community. We are forever grateful.
We are thrilled the whole herd is staying together and going to a wonderful dairy in Virginia where we can visit them!
We are also so grateful for all the amazing folks we’ve had milk here with us over the years (we love you all!)
There have been so many memories- chasing cows and epic births, twins and late night checks, cheese making and butter, foliar feeding milk and milk broccoli (IYKYK). Rob even proposed to Mo while feeding the calves one spring evening. We have been so lucky and we will miss it all.
From the original four cows- Nell, Bess, Annabelle and Matilda and all their offspring, it’s been a ride we won’t forget. Love you, cows.
