As many of you know, this week our family suffered the indescribable loss of one of our youngest farmers - Wesley James Cockerill. Wesley is Josh and Katie’s youngest son, and went to be with the Lord at 20 months of age. Please keep them in your prayers.
His memorial service will he held this Thursday, June 18th, at 6pm. It will he held at “The Creek” on Fort Bacon Farm.

Uh oh, almost didn’t see you there little one! Mama cows will sometimes hide their babies in the grass like deer. We might have to look for them, but mama always knows where they are.

This is a triplet baby lamb, one of three born to an ewe 2 weeks ago. She couldn't feed all three, so we've been bottle feeding this little one and she's doing great! Interesting thing, she never grew an attachment to her mom so she has "imprinted" on us, and she will follow us wherever we go, more pictures to come...

Fort Bacon has two new bulls! We wish them great success, and are hopeful for many little “Rocket” and “Slow-Joe” babies (named by the little farmers) running through the fields.

The chickens are mobile! This winter we converted an old silage wagon into a chicken coop that can rotate around the fields. The chickens get fresh grass and fertilize the pastures.

The ground is waking up, and so are we. The greenhouse is filling up with vegetable seedlings; starting to sprout. Ranunculus flowers are the first thing in the ground. We are *growing* excited for all that the warmth will bring to the Fort Bacon Farm stand. See you soon.

Fort Bacon Farm has welcomed a special calf on the farm! The new mama, Bubbles, wasn't accepted by her mother as a baby and had to be hand-reared. Now she's thriving as a new mom to this little one, who wears some of the same white markings as Bubbles herself. 🐄💝

New life on Fort Bacon Farm! “Bubbles” was once one of our bottle calves after her mom couldn’t take care of her - it is great to see her thriving as a mamma. She had a red calf (thanks to Ruben the red bull) but she got some of her white markings.

Due to the weather, we are not opening for the farm tour today. However we will be there from 3-4 doing hay wagon rides to see the baby sheep and pick some pumpkins for those of you that want to brave the rain. Looking forward to seeing all who come out!
