BIG NEWS! The PVF West Stand (at the corner of Rt 287 & John Wolford Rd) will open this Saturday! Some things have changed, but rest assured, our lovely ecoganic produce will be the same.

Our hours this year: Saturdays and Sundays, open 10 am to 4 pm. Beginning June 4, we will be open 10 am to 2 pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

What are we doing to address folks' concerns about the ongoing pandemic? We will now offer a full-service experience. This year, the larger vegetable storage area will not be open to the public. You will be able to order from a list of our available vegetables, and Stand workers will get everything for you. The small room of the stand will be open. Enter through the door facing the parking lot.

We have put together some guidelines for a safe and happy experience for everyone in our stand:

1. Due to the size of our Farm Stand, we will admit ONE (1) Customer inside at a time.

2. Masks or face coverings are required in the Farm Stand *

*If you are unable to wear a mask due to serious illness and/or you require limited contact pickup, please write your order down on the paper provided near the entrance, place order in the bin nearby and we will fill your order based on your place in line.

3. Please keep a minimum of 6 feet from others while waiting your turn.

4. We appreciate your choice to use reusable bags, unfortunately, we are NOT able to bag YOUR re-usable bags. If you would like to bag your produce yourself, please let us know. Otherwise, we will provide plastic bags for your purchases.

Easy Steps to Placing Your Order:

To help keep the line moving quickly,

💚 Please review our produce list white board before getting into line.

💚 Write your name and your order down on the paper provided. Please place used pencils into the discard bin when done.

💚 Get into line with your order. Stand workers will fill your produce order. Once you are inside the Stand, items inside the store (drinks, cheese, crackers, salamis, jellies, jams...) are Self-Service. We'll check you out promptly, and you can exit through the side double doors.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding, and thanks for your support for this essential local business. 💚 Happy Eating! #loudoungrown #shoplocal

Letter from Farmers to Governor Northam

Call To Action!

VA Governor Northam’s Executive Order 53 classifies farmers’ markets as restaurants instead of grocery stores. Farmers’ markets are essential businesses that can be safer than supermarkets and can manage social distancing for both vendors and customers.

In Virginia, farmers are being encouraged or directed to limit sales to pre-orders, or drive-through sales only in an effort to reduce crowding. While that logic translates to restaurants, it does not translate to farmers’ markets.

Please contact Governor Northam and your local elected officials and ask them to reclassify farmers’ markets as grocery stores and to keep the farmers’ markets open in an manner that is as close to normal as possible, with social distancing requirements and other safety measures that take into account the way these markets operate.

See our letter and find contact information for Governor Northam and Fairfax and Loudoun elected officials at https://potomacvegetablefarms.com/letter-from-farmers-to-governor-northam/
