Update on our miracle calf. Vet check up was good. Still a little dehydrated so electrolytes for the next 5 days. I know I can tube him but syringe is less invasive and what else do I have to do...LOL. His face says it all about taking his medicine. Excuse my attire....no reason to wear good clothes standing in a mud pit. Can't complain about the tons of rain...helps the grass grow.

It was a long worrisome night but he got up the next morning and nursed. We've been monitoring to make sure he stays nursing and hydrated. We even substitute with another cow for him to nurse to ensure he is getting what he needs. He sees the vet Tuesday.

My favorite cow from our herd finally gave me the heifer I've been waiting 5 years for(4 previous calves were bulls).
She's a big girl and had limited space in the womb resulting in contracted tendons. I missed her birth while out of town but my husband did a great job splinting and exercising her legs daily.
She is full of s***k and growing quickly. I'm excited for her future show career.
