Green Mountain Orchards

Green Mountain Orchards A pick your own orchard in Southern Vermont. We grow apples, blueberries, peaches, pumpkins, and more!

Most fall days the apples are in tough competition with our sinfully delicious pies and cider donuts. On those days, the donuts are still warm no matter what time of day you arrive. Our store is also stocked with our own jams, & butters, as well as quality products from our fellow Vermont neighbors. During the season you can make your own cider on our demonstration press, or, if you come on a cide

r-making day you can watch us grind and squeeze our special blends of tree picked fruit on the big press. Because we use fine quality fruit, we make our cider in the traditional way without pasteurizing. The orchard is a beautiful, wholesome place to visit any time of year. We welcome folks to hike, snowshoe, picnic in what we consider one of New England’s many paradises.

These men come to Vermont every year and sacrifice their lives in Jamaica and time with their families to come support our farm. They work tremendously hard every day for months to help us grow and harvest our apples and blueberries. Their home country of Jamaica has just experienced the worst hurricane in its history and many of them have not been able to reach their families in days. Please consider donating to this fund to help them rebuild their lives in Jamaica. Vermont farms can't exist without their efforts. It's time for us to give back.

Crop Update:

The first bin of Paula Red is about to hit the shelves. Paula Red has a sweet-tart taste, and these first picked are leaning towards tart.

This variety seems to have survived the frost better than others. There is very little fruit in the orchard, and what has survived is suffering from various frost related comestic imperfections.

We have made the sad and difficult decision that we will NOT be allowing PYO in the orchard this year. We will have our own fruit available in our store in limited quantities (and qualities). We also will not have fruit stored for as long as normal this winter.

We will be making cider and pies and donuts!
