Fall litter list update:

I've had multiple inquiries about getting on the list for fall piglets. First of all, thank you for your interest! It truly means so much and I'm thankful for kids who want to put in the work to get pigs to their full potential.

Since this is just a fun hobby on the side of our regular lives, we only farrow 2-3 litters per season which can mean variable availability. At this time, I won't be adding any additional folks to my fall piglet list (for those individual students who have purchased in the past and have a working relationship with me, you are already on my list). After piglets are born, any additional pigs available will be advertised at that time, which is generally early October. πŸ–

Sow spotlight!
Sprinkles 🧁
Believe In Me (PBG) x Glory Days

Sprinkles is a sow we purchased in May 2024 from a family in Oregon as a cull sow - we gave her a second chance and she has proved herself as anything but!

She is really ugly (no hard feelings, it's the truth), but she is sweet, gentle, and produces spectacular babies. It's easy to say she is one of the best mothers we've ever had.

Sprinkles has farrowed multiple winners and continues to be productive on our farm. She is 4 years old and just weaned her 6th litter this spring, 4 of them being with us. Can't wait to see what she gives us this fall, Lord willing!

I'm so proud of every single kid that raised and showed a Kline pig at the NWJLS! They entered the ring with tenacity and sportsmanship.

Congrats to Enumclaw FFA and White River FFA who took home the FFA Grand Champion and Reserve Champion hogs this year!

If you're at the spring fair this year, stop by the livestock barn across from the Blue Gate and say hi! Consider supporting these kids and their projects at the sale auction this Sunday.

Flashback to the piglets born last fall. πŸ–

Be sure to check out the Northwest Junior Livestock Show at the Puyallup Spring Fair, April 17-19th to see most of these babies grown up as market hogs. It's amazing how piglets can grow from 3 lbs to 275 lbs in a 6 month time period!

They will be shown by 4-H and FFA students, and sold at the livestock auction at the fair on Sunday. This is a great way to support students learning about agriculture while filling your freezer at the same time.

Message me for more info if you're interested in supporting these student projects.

Sow looking for new pastures!

Sparkles is a 2023 model looking for a new farm.
(Front and Center x Stormy (Breaking Rules x Wedding Night))
DOB: September 30th, 2023

Pros:
- She has had 3 litters and is an excellent mother.
- she mlks really well and has never smashed any piglets.
- easy to breed
- great genetics, beautiful babies

Cons:
- she can be super aggressive when she's in heat. She will attempt to jump fences, try to bite, climb, etc.
- she is moderately protective of her babies. I'm able to vaccinate and pick them up in her pen, but she gets agitated and I could see her biting or chasing if you don't go quick.
- she gets overgrown claws. Just trimmed earlier this year.

Because we have small kids and don't farrow in crates, she would be best in a different setting. I would love to see her go on to farrow more litters!

Sow spotlight!

First up is the youngest sow on the farm, Sprout. She was born February 2025 here at our place. Her mom is our oldest sow, Sprinkles.

Sprout loves chasing the hose, playing in the mud, and being scratched.

She farrowed her very first litter of 13 piglets totally unassisted last month and weaned all 13 of them! We are excited to see how her piglets grow this summer.

For those interested in genetics, she is a crossbred out of Click It (Purple Power Stud) x Believe in Me (PBG)
