Had a couple calls this weekend. 9th place ribs and a 7th place pork. 20th overall out of 27 teams that were top in the game so a pretty stiff field. Happy at 20th and the calls! Congrats to Colorado Bulldog for GC, Best Damn BBQ Sauce Team #1 for RGC and a fellow solo cook who turned around his game and got 3rd overall, Jason T Aqui of BBQ Aloha!!!

Well, the Jack Daniels Invitational was drawn yesterday and I didnt get called. But thats alright, I am still headed to the American Royal invitational in Kansas City. Huge congrats to those PNW teams that did get called... Robs Smokin' and Grillin', Small Axe, Smellaque and Crooked Pigs. These teams have the skills to take on the South and make an impact!!!

Alderbrook Smoke on the Canal BBQ Competition is in the books. Didn't do horrible as the trailer pit never seems to win for me but today my luck changed. 1st place Tri-tip, 2nd place Ribs and chicken... well it deserved the 8th place it got and I got 4th place overall. Great job Noel and Brian for a great event!! Of course, congrats to Marcoe's for their first RGC and to Iron Haoug for their first GC!!

Had a good weekend in Myrtle Creek, Oregon at the Fly-In Pig BBQ Competition Myrtle Creek, OR. I did not get a walk but there was some REALLY stiff competition there. I placed 24th out of 32 teams total with 16th in Chicken, 17th in Ribs, 24th in Pork and a dismal 30th in Brisket. Had fun, beautiful scenery but the wind was a constant battle. Congrats to Slo Mo Que (Boogie) for his FIRST Grand Championship!!! As well as Crooked Pigs for Reserve GC. Solid teams and a bunch behind them! Next up.... who knows?!
