EG Richter Family Farm

EG Richter Family Farm Our Great Grandfather came out west in 1905 from Minnesoto looking to go to Alaska and get in on the Gold rush. Quality produce and locally grown, RICHTER FARM.

Apparently he did not find gold and in 1906 bought land in the Puyallup Valley. He cleared the land and began growing Hops and rasberries. Five generations latter my dad, son and I are farming the same property, growing green and red leaf lettuce, Romaine, green cabbage, napa cabbage, bok choy, cilantro, hot peppers (jalapeño, pasia, anahiem, Serrano's, and habenaro peppers), rhubarb, green beans

and beets. Over the years things have changed, different crops, equipment, marketing and computers. On any farm in order to be successful you have to keep up with the latest technology. One of the new things we are proud to be implementing is our food safety program and traceability. We now are able to track each carton from each field and the date which it was harvested.

Had a great time meeting with Tim and Timothy Richter, 4th and 5th generation of EG Richter Family Farm, our new Napa cabbage supplier‼️ The Stone Soup Kitchen - Home of Nils' Magic Kimchi will now have the ability to produce Nils’ Magic Kimchi within just a day or two, or even hours, from the time the cabbage is harvested from the ground‼️🥬🥬🥬

Emodin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Emodin (6-methyl-1,3,8-trihydroxyanthraquinone) is a chemical compound that can be isolated from rhubarb, buckthorn, and Japanese knotweed (Reynoutria japonica syn. Polygonum cuspidatum).[2] It is specifically isolated from Rheum Palmatum L.[3] It is also produced by many species of fungi, including members of the genera Aspergillus, Pyrenochaeta, and Pestalotiopsis, inter alia. The common name is derived from Rheum emodi, a taxonomic synonym of Rheum australe, (Himalayan rhubarb) and synonyms include emodol, frangula emodin, rheum emodin, 3-methyl-1,6,8-trihydroxyanthraquinone, Schuttgelb, and Persian Berry Lake.[4]
[edit]
Emodin is an active component of several plants used in Traditional Chinese Medicine such as Rheum palmatum, Polygonum cuspidatum and Polygonum multiflorum. It has various actions including laxative, antibacterial and antiinflammatory effects,[5][6] and has also been identified as having potential antiviral activity against coronaviruses such as SARS-CoV-2,[7][8] being one of the major active components of the antiviral TCM formulation Lianhua Qingwen.[9][10]
