We welcomed home a beautiful new yearling doe yesterday to our LuHy Farm herd!
Introducing Haymaker Farm Gizelle Quinn!! She is so sweet and lovely to watch move with that long deep body and nice level top line.

She is out of Old Mountain Farm AugustsQuinn x Old Mountain Farm MadM Mo Zell!! I am so very excited to have these genetics in my herd! Thank you to Stacey Teas Collins for the opportunity to own this beautiful doe! Looking forward to watching her mature and seeing her freshen next spring!!

Just some pics of our 2023 kids...very happy with these kids this year!! My herd is definitely heading in the right direction for my herd goals and even though we had way more bucks than does born this year, the girls I do have to retain are very lovely!! So excited to get these girls in the ring later this year and to watch them mature!!

Our first of the two girls due in April is...
Chickadee Farm MM Kissing Gold (Winning Streak CM Magic Man x Feathernscale Be Kissthisprize) x Dreahook Uncas Sauer (Dreahook SS Ranier x Dreahook U Chachalaca). Super excited to see this FF udder and for these beautiful kids!
I am anticipating long and level kids with good width and front end assembly, and with a lovely and capacious mammary system!!

Next up and the last due in March is Chickadee Farm A Vanya! She was bred to Sugar Mountain Hakuna Matata and is due March 20. This cross should produce beautiful level and wide kids with very capacious udders! Since both are chamoisse I would expect all babies to be as well. I am excited to see the kids as well as Vanya's 2nd freshening udder!!
First doeling is retained. Reservations open for second doeling and bucklings. She looks to be carrying twins or triplets. PM if interested!

Looking forward to seeing my kids out of We Goat It Isle of Skye x Sugar Mountain Hakuna Matata end of March! Skye looks to be carrying triplets so looking forward to seeing how her udder looks as she matures this kidding since she only had a single doling last year. Reservation list is open.

Super excited about these kids coming up next month...
Dreahook U Chachalaca x Chickadee Farm SB Chief Benja!! These kids should be super correct with great mammary systems, and flashy!!! I expect them to have super strong feet and legs as well as beautiful faces. I love Chacha's udder, her capacity is beautiful and she is great on the stand and milks well. Looking forward to getting her back in the ring this year!

Did a little pre clip on a few of the girls' udders mainly because I couldn't wait to see Sweeter Than Honey SapphireGem's developing FF udder! And I was not disappointed!! I think this looks like a very promising udder and I am so excited to watch it grow as we have one more month left to wait!! Praying there are a couple of girls in there!!

Udder High Hope M Linen is our third doe due in March. She was bred to Sugar Mountain Hakuna Matata and is expecting at least triplets if not a couple more!!

Super excited about this pairing....Sweeter Than Honey SapphireGem x Dreahook Unca's Sauer!! Sapphie will be a first freshener and I am so excited to see her udder and see these kids!! This past summer Sapphie earned her Junior Grand Champion leg!! She is a dream to have in the ring and basically shows herself as she floats around the ring and stacks herself perfectly!

I am expecting beautifully long level kids from this pair with well set strong legs and feet and what should prove to be beautiful udders! And gorgeous heads!! I need to get some better pics of Sauer as this does not do him justice. He is just gorgeous...long, wide, level, and has a beautiful head with soft blue eyes!
Praying for all girls!!!! If there are more than two doelings, I just might share but first two doelings are reserved!

This week I will be highlighting another doe who was bred to Chickadee Farm SB Chief Benja (Violet's Acre School Bee Doo *B x CH Old School Creamery Carolyn)...Dreahook DB Mica (TX Twincreeks Downtown Brown *B x Dreahook RS Cape May). She also seems to be carrying at least triplets!!
I am expecting these kids to be very dairy with long elegant necks, well attached udders, and nice width between the thurls. Both dam and sire's dam have lovely mammary systems so I am excited to see how they pass that down...thinking pink!!

UDDER HIGH HOPE SUGAR MAGNOLIA (Udder High Hope RG Kimchi x Udder High Hope AF Honey Bee) was bred to CHICKADEE FARM SB CHIEF BENJA (Violet's Acre School Bee Doo *B x CH Old School Creamery Carolyn). She looks to be having at least triplets!!
These Maggie x Chief kids should be flashy with great conformation. I am expecting long and deep bodied kids with beautiful heads and good strong legs and a lovely mammary system with good attachments and well placed teats that are easy to hand milk.

Life on the farm has been so busy getting ready to move to our new farm but last week we started breeding season with this pairing!

This breeding brought into my herd the Wood Bridge Farm lines and Heaven's Hollow lines that I have been looking forward to having! So thankful to Kathy Plutnick for entrusting me with her beautiful girl and these awesome babies!

March 27th, Mica kidded with quads! Three of the babies (2 doelings and a buckling) were good size at 3.3 lbs each. Then just when we thought she was done she gave one more big push and out popped our Tiny Tim at 1.0 lbs. We thought he was dead but he had a very strong will to live. So he is our first house goat, or rather mom and dad's first house goat! He is living the life and happy and healthy! The other three are doing well and will be availble in a couple months.

March 26th, Alivia had a horrible delivery that ended with only one baby being delivered live and loosing the other three precious babies. It was a terribly hard day for us all, especially my poor Alivia who mourned those babies for two days. She and baby Luna Grace are doing much better this evening and I think will come out on the bright side of this rough journey. Luna Grace is absolutely retained! Welcome to the family LuHy Farm Luna Grace- our little miracle!!

March 17th Mae kidded with beautiful quads!! Two Bucks/Two Does!
One doe will be retained. Both bucks and the second doe will be availble. These kids have an excellent pedigree and should do well in the show ring as well as the milk pail! Will get better pics as they get older and more cooperative! PM if interested.

The continuation of growing baby bellies has me so excited and antsy to get these kids on the ground!! Hopefully next weekend Linen will start off our kidding season with a "text book perfect delivery"! :) I know for sure at least Alivia is going to be so relieved to have her babies...she is so over this as she is feeling like a beached whale about now!! Hang in there girl!! Love my girlies!!!

Chickadee Farm A Hot Fuzz out of Chickadee Farm Hot Pocket x Chickadee Farm Aslan. This girl is gorgeous too and maturing so nicely and is such a sweet easy going girl to handle! Looking forward to showing her again next year as well as she did really well in a large class at the end of this show season!

We Goat It Isle of Skye out of The Medomak Marble x We Goat It K**a Sutra. This blue eyed beauty is the newest to the herd and still settling in but she is gorgeous and I can't wait to show her next year as a dry yearling!

Udder High Hope Ebony Royale out of Udder High Hope Linen x Udder High Hoipe RH Jersey. Ebony is maturing slowly but surely and has such depth of body. Going to be fun to see how she matures over the next year and how she does this next show season!
