Y’all…there aren’t enough words to explain how incredible yesterday was at the Open House! From Elsie getting to meet her favorite flower farmer (mine too!!) and probably making a new friend for life 🤗, to of teaching us how to use the flower frogs and make gorgeous bouquets with locally sourced fresh flowers, and tossing out hydrangeas to put in our hair and sharing so much knowledge that I can’t read my own quick scribbles in my notebook, and of course Emily from teaching us about growing flowers for seed production and helping Elsie make a very special bouquet to take to her grandma…it was quite simply one of the best days ever!

Well, we moved from Kansas to Pennsylvania in December and now I’m gearing up to start our little flower farm all over again! We were mesmerized last summer with the beauty of our flowers, especially those dahlias 😍 lots of seedlings growing already, with so many more to come! Flower fields, here we come!! 🌻🌻🌻

What’s in a name? Pt 1…

Sweet Bee’s Flowers has a pretty wonderful meaning behind the name…here’s a small glimpse at one of them. Elsie Grace is my smallest sweet bee 🤗 she is fierce but gentle, sassy but deeply caring, independent but snuggly, stubborn as her daddy but smart as they come. She loves dresses, and doing hair and painting nails and digging into the dirt with me every chance she gets. She loves our flowers as much as I do, and is with me every morning watering and seed starting and digging and transplanting. She says she wants to be a mama and a veterinarian and a pediatric doctor (100% her ideas!) when she grows up, but for now she’s my flower girl. Her favorite flower farming videos to watch are from , in which she says “mama let’s watch Lisa Mason Ziegler please”, and considers her a personal best friend (even though she’s never met her 😆), and can probably teach me more about seed starting at this point than I can teach her! Elsie’s favorite flowers are hibiscus and peonies!
