Our ancestors. Seated left to right: Annie Harr, our great-great grandmother. She is holding our dad, William Harr. Next is Mary and Howard Sine, our great grandparents and founders of Sine's 5 & 10. Next to Howard is his mother, Hannah Sine. Standing left to right: George and Annie Harr our great grandparents. Then our grandparent, Tess and Arthur Harr. Tess is the only child of Mary and Howard Sine. She married Arthur Harr and that is why Sine's 5 & 10 is owned by Harrs and not Sines.

Our great-grandfather, Howard B. Sine, opened his new store on this day 114 years ago. The first store was located in the basement of 217 W. Broad St. We have no pictures of this store, but we have the ledger of his receipts totaling $98. He moved his business to 236 W. Broad St. in 1926 which makes this building 100 years old. Many changes have happened through the years, the generations taking their turn as owning and operating the family business. Now it's up to Billy and me to continue the tradition. We thank you for your continued support. Happy 114th anniversary to us!
