It took me a long time to perfect this recipe seeing that there are no measurement to for it. It is a ve

ry unique recipe even though it does have the usual ingredients any Coquito recipe has. The secret is in the spices and the rum. I use a rum that you can find in Puerto Rico and in less then a handful of places in New York. I remember making this recipe with my mom, back home in Puerto Rico and it is always a reminder of home and the holiday season when I make a batch. This recipe taste better with age. The longer is ferments the better it is. The most I would advise to have it is about 6 months. In all honesty though, you will want to drink it way before hand. I usually suggest having two bottles, one to drink and the other to ferment. Trust me, its worth it. Noli's Coquito is named after our cat and my abuelas cat, the original Noli. The original Noli was a street/family cat. He was a good luck charm for the domino players in the neighborhood and cool cat at that. is still a baby but a unique cat at that. Similar to my Coquito, it is unique, take you by surprise recipe that you will remember. Enjoy!
