Mesa Roots Farm Mesa Roots Farm is an off-grid grassroots farm in the high desert outside of Questa, New Mexico. Sustainability, Permaculture, Community!

Mesa Roots Farm is located on the sagebrush mesa 30 minutes north of Taos, NM. We grow mostly native and locally sourced crops that are adapted to life on the alkaline high desert mesa with its low water, high winds, cold winters and hot summers. We offer education opportunities within our local community and offer work trades for vegetables with our neighbours in Questa and north. We are open to

WWOOFers and have housing for any volunteers that are interested in work trades. We are also building a walipini greenhouse later in the year and welcome anyone wanting to learn natural building to come and join us.

It’s been an extremely short season this year in high desert northern New Mexico!

Today we harvest our first large batch of basil from the walipini to make our annual 300+ jars of vegan pesto.
