is Greek for "The Good Place"

40 Acres on the Toandos Peninsula in Coyle, Washington with thousands of Huckleberry bushes amongst the forest and open spaces. On lucky 7/7/07 we saved these beautiful 40 acres from development, preserving a complex wildlife habitat hosting deer, osprey, great blue heron, black bear, fox, coyote; Lake Napen is home to cedar waxwings, ducks, geese, swifts, d

ragonflies, and the loudest bullfrog chorus ever. To our delight we found an embarrassment of huckleberry riches throughout the woodlands. We harvest & sort each tiny berry by hand for a premium grade of intense flavor, keeping the huckleberry tradition alive. The Eaton family foraged from these same bushes in the early 1900's to market in neighboring Quilcene. Eutopos Huckleberry Jam is becoming well known for its black purple goodness; our Red Huckleberry Jelly was given rave reviews in the March/April 2013 edibleSeattle magazine. The terroir on our western slopes and in the woodlands lends a special richness to our huckleberries. Nature's bees and hummingbirds help too! Being in the middle of Hood Canal, views of The Brothers peaks, Mount Constance and Mount Jupiter astound. The sky beckons to be watched at sunset. Let the 23rd Season of Wild Lowland Huckleberry Jam jammin' commence!!

I started to pick these tiny beauties back on Ptarmigan Lane in rural Poulsbo in 2002. From 2007-2014 I commuted from P'Bo to Eutopos Farm & Gardens ...would spend 5 hours pickin', then drive home & spend another 4-5 hours sorting & cleaning the berries. Processed the jam in a commercial kitchen, sold at fairs & farmers markets, shipped throughout the county (even made it to Brazil & Germany!). A lot of back-n-forth, but folks loved the blue/black goodness!!

Push came to shove & we moved out permanently to Eutopos in 2014 (!) ...and until 2020 I made the jam in our Avion travel trailer. Stopped selling commercially, just to friends & family. Then life changed dramatically to say the least!!

These past five years have been a dream creating in this century-old farmhouse kitchen.

I'm a lucky girl & kiss the ground of this amazing woodland Every. Single. Day. 💜💜💜
