Not something I had on my Thursday evening bingo card. 😩

This evening when I entered my bedroom, about to go to sleep I immediately realized something was very wrong.

Wednesday was on the floor (she’s a greet you at the door or snuggle on the bed type of kitty) and there was blood ~everywhere~ it literally looked like a crime scene. Her gums were scary pale and she seemed very weak.

Initially it looked like maybe she had self mutilated the outside of her ear, but once we got things more cleaned up and we could see what was actually going on, the raggedy edges of her ear turned out to be clotted blood instead of torn skin like I thought.

It took forever to get the bleeding to finally stop. Best we can guess is that it’s coming from somewhere deep within the ear canal. We still were unable to find out exactly where the bleeding was coming from but thankfully, she seems to be stable now.

Her gums are pinker and her capillary refill time looks good. She ate about 15oz of chicken purée treat and I’m hoping she’s able to eat more over night.

That’s enough for me for one night.🫩 Poor little girl is miserable in her cone. 😩
