Go ahead, eat your town. Local food is not only a more nutritious food source, it also tastes better. Here is a quick guide to getting the most out of fresh fruits and veggies this year. All dates are tentative, and are subject to the elements (temperature, precipitation, etc.) We will update with greater accuracy as each season approaches. Thanks for the patience! The Winter Harvest: November-Marc

h
Spring: April-June
Summertime (the livings easy): June-September
Autumn: September-November

The Winter Harvest. The produce available in the winter is provided entirely by our lovely greenhouses and low tunnels. In the winter, the lack of sunlight slows a plant's metabolism causing a cessation of growth. For this reason, we plant (or try to, it gets busy) our winter crops with enough time to allow them to mature before the days get too slow. This allows us to supplement a sumptuous Christmas dinner with some fresh greens! Spinach, Kale, Arugula, Buttercrunch/Romaine Lettuce, Carrots, Winter/Spaghetti Squash

Spring Time. Spring is a sopping, sweet smelling season where it feels great to finally get back out into the field. With the Midwest being the lovely roller-coaster of weather it is, dates fluctuate due to temperature and planting conditions. Buttercrunch/Romaine Lettuce, Asparagus, Strawberries(!), Cauliflower, Broccolli, Eggplant, Cucumber, Summer Squash, Zucchini

Summer Bustle. The taste of summer is truly amazing in our part of the world. The variety of deliciousness available in Western Illinois is truly staggering. To quote Garrison Keillor, "s*x is good, but not as good as fresh sweet corn". Sweet Corn, Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Green Beans, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Purslane, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Eggplant, Cucumber, Summer Squash, Zucchini
Also: flowers (Zinnias and Cosmos)

Autumnal Cooldown. Fall is a great time for family. Take a free hayrack ride around the farm, pick out your own pumpkin, and get lost in the corn maze! Pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers, zinnias, tomatoes, peppers, onions, spaghetti/winter squash, broccoli, cucumber, zucchini, eggplant, radish, kale, lettuce, spinach, arugula.
