Cattlemen's Call to Action

President Trump suggested importing more Argentinian beef as a way to lower beef prices.

Arkansas cattle producers work tirelessly to raise safe, high-quality beef for American families. Importing more beef from Argentina—a country with a history of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and a deeply unbalanced trade relationship with the U.S.—puts both our herds and our markets at risk.

Although beef prices have increased, consumer demand remains strong because of the hard work, innovation, and commitment to quality from producers here at home. The federal government sh
ould let the free market work, not interfere in ways that hurt rural America.
“Importing more beef from Argentina won’t fix prices at the grocery store—it will only undercut American producers and put our livestock health at risk.”
— Don Hubbell, President, Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association

The Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association is in active communication with policymakers to express strong opposition to this plan and ensure Arkansas producers have a voice in Washington.

Make your voice heard.

Sign this letter to tell Congress that U.S. beef producers deserve fair, market-driven policy.
