On Friday, they stole home in Omaha.

It was only fitting, as throughout the regular season and the regionals and the super regionals, they stole something else, too.

The hearts of Mountaineer fans everywhere.

This team didn't sneak into Omaha for WVU's first ever appearance in the College World Series. They earned it, with grit and joy and heart, reminding you of why people are so romantic about baseball.

The Mountaineers take the field again Sunday night, and in living rooms throughout the Mountain State and around the country people who have waited their whole lives for this moment are going to watch every single inning.

We'll definitely be one of them.

Let's gooooooo, Mountaineers!

These mountains are full of legends.

There are countless wild stories. You know, the kind of things the old-timers swear are real but nobody can prove.

We've all heard the tales of people seeing the big guy just out past the treeline, too tall to be a bear, footprints bigger than any boot, and always gone before you snap a picture (at least a non-blurry one).

Then there's the winged black creature with the eyes as red as charcoal embers appearing as an ominous warning of impending tragedy.

There are lights that drift through the hollows with nobody carrying them. Campers tell of cries in the dark that don't belong to any animal that anyone can name. Some folks even talk about aliens landing in the middle of these mountains.

Believe it or not, though, we've heard a tale so unbelievable that it puts all of those campfire stories to shame...

We heard that some people have opened a jar of Blue Smoke Salsa and not finished it in one sitting.

Really? Believing in Bigfoot is one thing, but this? Come on.

So, on the off chance this tall tale might actually be true, we print "Refrigerate After Opening" on every jar. Just don't start thinking we believe in a bunch of legends and superstitions. We're just making sure.

Bigfoot, though? He's one hundred percent real.

Every summer, a few hundred thousand people drive into Fayette County, West Virginia and see the New River Gorge for the first time. And every summer, a few hundred thousand people understand why many of us never want to leave.

If you've ever stood on the old Fayette Station Bridge and looked up at the New River Gorge Bridge, you know what it does to a person. It's the kind of view that makes Sunday drivers pull over and rafters stop paddling. It's the kind of place that turns first-time visitors into people who keep finding excuses to come back.

This is where Blue Smoke Salsa was born. Not metaphorically, but right here in the mountains of Fayette County. For more than thirty years now, it's been everything the river is: rugged, timeless, and a little wild.

To everyone visiting New River Gorge National Park and Preserve this summer: Stay an extra night. Tip your guide. And make one last stop at the bridge before you go.

Blue Smoke Salsa is heading south this weekend.

We’ll be at the Annual Spring Fling & St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Fort Mill, SC — bringing a little Appalachian sweet heat to the Carolinas.

If you’re anywhere near Baxter Village, come find us. We’ll be sampling (yes, you can try before you buy) and we’ll have jars ready to take home for your next game night, backyard hangout, or parade after-party.

Mild. Medium. Hot. And, of course, our famous Peach.

Kettle cooked. All natural. Built to disappear fast.

We’ll see you this weekend, South Carolina.

The room gets quiet before tip-off...but that won't last for long.

The TV is glowing. The chips are in the bowl. The mugs are frosted. It's time to break out your brackets and the Blue Smoke Salsa.

Welcome to March Madness.

If you have been wondering where to find Blue Smoke Salsa online, we have some good news...

Blue Smoke Salsa now has a new online home.

You can now order Blue Smoke Salsa directly through Mountain & Marsh Trading Co., a new online shop focused on regional food brands and small-batch products from across Appalachia and the Southeast US.
Most importantly, nothing about the salsa itself has changed. The recipes are still the same ones created by Robin Hildebrand and loved by West Virginians for decades, and the salsa is still proudly produced in Clarksburg by Oliverio Peppers.

What Mountain & Marsh provides is a dedicated home where Blue Smoke Salsa can continue to grow while also introducing new products and regional favorites alongside it.

We are excited to start this next chapter and grateful for everyone who has supported Blue Smoke Salsa over the years.
