What an incredible day.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, helped behind the scenes, shared the event with friends and family, and joined us for The Tongba & Chhaang Ritual. We truly could not have done it without you.

One thing that surprised us was seeing just how large and supportive the Nepali community is in the greater Cary area. The turnout, conversations, stories, and encouragement meant so much to us. Thank you for showing up and making this event such a special experience.

We had an absolute blast sharing Tongba, Chhaang, and a piece of Himalayan tradition with all of you. Seeing people connect over these drinks, ask questions, share memories, and build new friendships was exactly what we hoped for.

For everyone asking about what's next, Tongba and Chhaang will be available at KōMANA Brewing Company in Cary. We are currently working on a new batch, and as always, fermentation takes time. We will announce availability as soon as it is ready.

We are sharing photos and videos from the event on our social media pages. Feel free to share your own photos and videos, and tag yourself, your friends, and anyone you recognize. If you would prefer that we blur your face or remove a photo or video that includes you, just send us a message and we'll be happy to take care of it.

The Tongba & Chhaang Ritual with Yak&Brew is happening tomorrow, May 31 at KōMANA Brewing Company.

This is more than a tasting event. It’s a guided experience into the heart of Himalayan fermentation culture, centered on community, storytelling, music, and traditions passed down for generations.

Expect:
🍶 Traditional Tongba & Chhaang tasting
🎶 Live band playing traditional Nepali instrumental music
🪕 Cultural storytelling around fermentation and heritage
🎨 Guest speaker Marina sharing her handcrafted Tongba vessels

Join us for a special afternoon of Himalayan tradition.

Yak&Brew is bringing The Tongba & Chhaang Ritual to KōMANA Brewing Company on Sunday, May 31.

If you’ve tried Yak&Brew before, it would genuinely mean a lot to us to see you there in person. This experience is something we’ve been building from the ground up to share the way Tongba and Chhaang are truly enjoyed in the Himalayas, slow, social, and deeply rooted in tradition.

We’ll guide you through the preparation, serving, and cultural experience behind these drinks, not just as a tasting, but as a living tradition.

We’re also joined by Marina from Bosetti Art Tile & Pottery, the artist behind our handcrafted Tongba vessels, who will share the craftsmanship and story behind the ceramics that bring this ritual to life.

We’ll be hosting two sessions at 1 PM and 3 PM.
