What a week it has been...Thankful for rain and it looks like (and I’m praying for) more rain…Lots of spinning and so thankful for engineering, fix it type of grand boys who put my Traditional wheel down on the floor and fixed a very annoying squeak and ka-thunk it was making…this turquoise/teal merino from Living Felt is going to go with the grey alpaca/sari-silk blend from Falkor Ranch Alpaca’s. They were our alpaca mentors…

Been weaving for almost the first time in 30 years. I was gifted this Cricket and stand by a friend to get me back into weaving by encouraging me to share this skill with my preschool class at Let’s Wonder - Music and Art Homeschool enrichment class. Alpaca Warp and a painted weft from Spruce Dragon with added experiments! Feels good!

Spent a couple of hours in the garden this am as per normal…WEEDS are a never ending issue as is water! or the lack there-of! Were you able to find all the toads in my green house? Weaving on my gifted to me ridgid heddle loom (Cricket) and making a scarf with alpaca yarn I bought from a friend and Spruce Dragon hand dyed yarn... I’m pretty pleased since I haven’t really woven much in the past 30 years!

So excited my Alpaca Purse is done! All handspun from my alpaca’s except the base which is wool! Hand knit and then felted. Then I needle felted the little alpaca appliques on to the bag. I love it and hope you do too. It will be for sale this Sunday at our Open House (We’re selling our custom made home and moving closer into town). We’re also selling some custom made furniture and some antiques we won’t have room for. Hope you’ll some and take something wonderful home with you or buy our home!

My latest creation has been a long work in progress. Pretty pleased with how it turned out! All handspun and handknit from my alpaca’s (minus the base which is BrownSheepWool) and left in their natural colors. Felted and then I felted little herds of alpaca’s onto it. I love it but as a purse or bag too big for me but I’m going to make me one that is smaller! It will be available for sale at our OPEN HOUSE (House is for sale too and the price just got lowered) and Estate Sale!
