Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians Councilman Matthew LaChappa showcased the tribe's Golden Eagle Farm during the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary's Tribal Advisory Committee meeting, at Jamul Casino Resort.

Councilam LaChappa introduced Mesa Grande's Native Owned and Native Operated Farm, the first of its kind in , to Secretary Kennedy, and local tribal leaders, to highlight the importance of food sovereignty and access to healthy produce, which lacks all across Indian country.

Golden Eagle Farm stands in prayer with the family, friends, and community of Frank Torres.

The disappearance of a fellow farmer committed to land stewardship, food sovereignty and security, and the regeneration/healing of people and land, is deeply painful and impacts all of us who carry the responsibility of caring for our lands, feeding our communities, and preserving our ways of life for future generations.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous People is not a statistic—it is a crisis that continues to affect Native families across Indian Country.

Every missing Indigenous relative leaves behind loved ones searching for answers, healing, and justice. As Native farmers and stewards of the land, we feel this loss personally and collectively.

Frank Torres is more than a name on a flyer. He is a relative, community member, and fellow Indigenous agricultural leader whose presence matters.

Golden Eagle Farm honors his life and joins the call for continued awareness, accountability, and support in bringing him home.

We ask our surrounding community to remain vigilant, share information responsibly, and keep Frank Torres and his loved ones in your prayers.
