Dodging Thistles Regenerative Farm We are a small family farm located directly between Atlanta and Birmingham. We love it. And, by the way, we raise Dorper Sheep and Cockapoo Puppies.

We chased a dream for our family to experience the most wholesome and wondrous parts of life.

A little something about parenthood and shepherds…

This new mama had her first baby yesterday. And if you know anything about🐑, you know they don’t like to be alone. But this mama and this baby were tired, so they stayed put as the flock grazed on moving about the pasture.

Then, the flock returned at dusk, and they were all reunited for the night. As the sheep moved along in a line this morning to head towards the back of the pasture, I watched this mama look at her baby and look at the flock, debating if they could try and keep up today. The gap widened as she thought it through. Then, as if she were to take a deep breath, she moved forward and her lamb followed along, this new family slowly making its way toward the rest of the gang.

And then comes Glory, our LGD 🐶 . She, the good shepherd, comes back to escourt these two, making sure they are safe, making sure they don’t feel alone.

It was such a tender and beautifully kind display of nature. Of the love of a mama. Of how parenthood slows us down. Of how we can’t always keep up, yet where we are is exactly where we need to be. And through it all, we are never alone. The good shepherd comes back for us, stays beside us and leads us to those greener pastures. ✝️
