Padlock Ranch Company Padlock Ranch is a large cattle ranch in Wyoming and Montana. Our ranch is all about sustainable beef production.

The Padlock Ranch was established in 1943 when Homer Scott, along with his wife Mildred, purchased 3000 acres along the pristine Tongue River near the Montana – Wyoming border. Over the years, the ranch has expanded to now encompass nearly 450,000 acres and over 10,000 pair of mother cows and calves, making the Padlock Ranch in the top 10 cow-calf operation in the US.

Summer Job Available
Hello! We have a summer job open that would be perfect for a high school student. We need a Ranch Maintenance and Grounds Assistant. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and taking pride in keeping property clean and well-maintained.

Responsibilities:
Mowing lawns and large grassy areas
W**d eating and general vegetation control
Lawn irrigation setup, monitoring, and minor repairs
W**d spraying and basic herbicide application (with guidance)
General landscape maintenance (trimming, cleanup, upkeep)
Building and property maintenance tasks
Cleaning and organizing work areas, buildings, and equipment
Assisting as a shop laborer with various ranch projects
Supporting property management tasks as needed
Loading/unloading mowers and equipment
Hooking up and safely pulling trailers

Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Ability to safely operate trucks, trailers, and basic small equipment
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift and carry equipment/materials (70+ lbs.)
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions

Preferred Skills (not required but a plus):
Experience operating lawn equipment or small machinery
Basic mechanical knowledge
Familiarity with ranch or agricultural work

Schedule & Duration:
Seasonal summer position (flexible start/end dates based on availability)
Full-time M-F with Saturdays as needed for lawn irrigation.
