Today we tested Mor Kali as one of the $5 special in Atlanta, and to our surprise, it sold out in just 90 minutes.

I would rank this as the second-best Mor Kali I have eaten in my life. The top spot still belongs to a memorable serving I enjoyed nearly 15 years ago at the Music Academy in Madras during a Mandolin Srinivas concert.

Mor Kali is one of those traditional dishes that must be enjoyed warm, fresh off the stove. To present it neatly, I had to flash-chill it briefly so it could be cut into perfect squares. Served as four generous pieces in a box and paired with a spicy Vathal Kuzhambu, every bite was pure comfort.

Some dishes do more than satisfy hunger—they transport you back to a place, a time, and a cherished memory. Today, Mor Kali did exactly that.

Launching this in California would be challenging but not impossible.
At 50 portions per location we would need 600 portions or about 2400 pieces in all on any given day. But what’s life without challenges.!

Everyone seems to be talking about the SpaceX IPO.

Some are debating valuation.

Some are projecting how many trillions it could be worth.

Some are convinced it will be the investment opportunity of a lifetime.

So after careful consideration, I decided to buy exactly one share.

Not because I think it will make me rich.

Not because I have a secret spreadsheet.

Not because I suddenly became an aerospace expert.

I bought one share because I wanted a seat at the table when everyone starts talking about it.

Meanwhile, while Elon Musk is busy plotting humanity’s future on Mars, I am confronting a far more urgent crisis: the rumbling in my stomach.

Some people are dreaming about becoming an interplanetary species.

I am trying to decide between a Masala Dosa and a Mysore Masala Dosa.

While billionaires are figuring out how to grow potatoes on Mars, I am figuring out how to get an extra chutney refill.

They are building rockets that travel millions of miles.

I am building a lunch strategy that gets me through the afternoon without raiding the snack drawer.

Different scales. Same spirit of innovation.

If SpaceX becomes the greatest investment of all time, I can proudly say I was an early investor.

If it doesn’t, my financial loss will be roughly equivalent to a few dosas and a filter coffee.

Either way, I win.

One mission requires advanced propulsion systems.

The other requires a nearby South Indian restaurant.

As a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, I believe in solving the most important problems first.

And right now, lunch is a higher priority than Mars.

I have always been a great admirer of Shri Balaji Pattappa, a fifth-generation caterer and proud torchbearer of the legendary Pattappa family legacy. His commitment to quality, authenticity, and tradition has earned the appreciation of food lovers across generations.

I spoke with him yesterday about bringing his famous Kai Murukku to the Bay Area, and I am delighted to share that he has graciously agreed to a pilot project.

The first shipment will be airlifted from India on June 22 and is expected to arrive around June 26. While the final landed cost is still being worked out, I can assure you that the pricing will be very reasonable.

The Kai Murukku will be available at all our outlets. Each location is expected to receive at least 50 packets, with every packet containing 5 handcrafted 5 round ( ஐந்து சுற்று )Kai Murukkus.

We are excited to offer our customers a taste of one of Tamil Nadu’s most cherished traditional snacks, made by a family that has perfected the art over generations.
