I wanted to make a more entertaining video about all the news, but as I started filming it started really hitting me that all this work over the last 3 years seems to have been for nothing.
First off it is true we are selling the new property to the Fire Department.
We’re not selling the company, just the property.
We’ll start (hopefully soon) to renovate our original location on 7th Street, so that in time we can relocate our tasting room back there.
After the sale of our new building we will become renters there, and continue to brew and distribute from that location.
For now and the foreseeable future, no big changes for you. The tasting room will still be open and ready for you to come grab a b**r at 8th Street.
Part of this deal will put limits on our operating hours and days of operations, and we’ll give y’all a heads up as those changes come into effect.
I don’t think I said it in the video but this whole deal was not and is not something we were forced into. We’ve operated there for over a year now with not a single violation for noise, over serving, or any other of the host of things we’ve been publicly accused of.
Our biggest motivation to sell, and move back was you guys, and our team.
At a certain point, we had to realize we’d never make that small group of neighbors happy, but we needed to focus and see if our customers were happy.
With the way everything played out things only got harder to not just exist up there but to even peacefully enjoy the new location. Countless threatening phone calls, false calls against us to the PD, and an endless stream of harassment to guests, no amount of new restrooms could make it worth all that.
This is not meant to be a pity party post, things are looking up for us. When it’s all said and done we’ll have a new production facility to spread our wings in over the next 10 years. Our original tasting room will get some much needed upgrades (more restrooms) and we’ll have plenty of convenient parking for you all.
There is so much heart and hard work that went into this property. I’m so proud we were able to pull it off and actually open our brewery on a piece of Rancho that we owned even if was short lived.
