The flowers do not face the same direction. One leans left, another reaches upward, and a few seem determined to leave the arrangement altogether.

We could ask the garden for symmetry, but we would lose so much of her personality in the bargain.

Perfection may be tidy.

Some arrive in faded rose, dusty plum, old lace and the soft green of stems tucked beneath the flowers.

Quiet colors do not ask for attention.

A little frozen fruit is headed to Sunday market. 🍧🍓🌹🍊🍉

We’re bringing Restoration Fields Farm Pops this Sunday — small-batch frozen fruit pops made with real fruit, simple ingredients, and flavors with a little more character than the freezer aisle.

This week’s lineup:

🍓 Strawberry Pucker
Ripe strawberry with balsamic and a touch of black pepper. Bright, sweet-tart, and a little bold.

🌹 Black Rose
Rosewater first, then deep blackberry and a lift of lemon. Floral, dark, and complex.

🍊 Golden Hour
Blood orange, honey, lemon, and sea salt. Bright citrus with a warm, rounded finish.

🍉 Sweet Slice
Made with watermelons grown right down the road in Olden by Tony Thomas, plus basil and lime. Over 90% real watermelon and lime juice.

They’ll be packed frozen with our farm goods this Sunday.

New Farm Pop Flavor: Sweet Slice 🍉

This one starts with watermelons grown right down the road in Olden, Texas by Tony Thomas — a name plenty of folks around here already know.

We turned that watermelon into Sweet Slice, our newest small-batch Restoration Fields Farm Pop.

Real, local watermelon juice, fresh basil, bright lime, and just enough sugar to bring it all together.

Over 90% real fruit juice

It’s simple, clean, and summer-forward — watermelon first, with a little herbaceous lift from the basil and a bright finish from the lime.

In yellow, the garden feels cheerful and a little unruly.

In weathered metal, she becomes rustic, dusky and wild around the edges.

🫙 THE QUIET INGREDIENTS
ALLSPICE 🫙

Despite its name, allspice is not a mixture of several spices.

It is one spice: the dried, unripe berry of the allspice tree.

Its name came from the way its aroma seemed to recall several familiar spices at once—especially cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. That natural complexity makes it particularly useful when a recipe needs warmth without allowing one individual spice to dominate.

In our Port Pears and Port Pear Syrup, allspice sits among cinnamon, vanilla and clove. It reinforces their holiday warmth while also helping those individual flavors blend into something rounder and more complete.

That is part of the reason opening either one smells so much like Christmas morning or the loveliest fragrances of fall. You recognize cinnamon. You recognize clove. But between them is a warm, peppery sweetness that is more difficult to name.

That is allspice.

Not all the spices—just one remarkable berry with a rather ambitious name.

This one sent its grasses wandering toward the ceiling, let a few flowers lean sideways and left several stems reaching wherever curiosity carried them.

Flowers grown in a field rarely arrive with good manners.

PART TWO — ORCHARD JERKY: HARVEST PORT

For Part Two of our Jerky Series, we are leaving the field and heading into the orchard.

Harvest Port begins with thin slices of pear flavored with apple juice, maple syrup, port, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. The pears are slowly dehydrated until tender and chewy, concentrating their natural sweetness and creating a deep, almost jammy fruit flavor.

Where Original Farm Jerky is savory and smoky, Harvest Port is sweet, richly fruited, and filled with warm fall spice.

Pair it with cheese, tuck it into a grazing board, pack it for the road, or enjoy it straight from the bag.

🌿 The grandest flowers may receive the introductions, but they do not make a bouquet alone.

It is the lace drifting between the zinnias, the snapdragons leaning beyond the edges and all those small, airy stems filling the quiet spaces that give an arrangement its movement.

Without them, we would have beautiful flowers.

With them, we have a garden. 💐
