2026 • Wheat Harvest🌾✅

That’s a wrap on wheat harvest! We cut some nice wheat but we are glad to be done and ready for things to slow down a little bit. The second we got done planting Milo we jumped right into the combines. Next up on the agenda is getting some spraying done!

Also, we have received more rain this June than normal on a 30 year average! Let’s hope that continues throughout July!

2026 corn planting is done! Here’s an interesting fact:

Subway was on the menu for tonight’s supper… it was $53.12 for 4 sandwiches. Price of wheat at the local elevator is $5.88 a bushel. So it would take roughly 9 bushels (540 lbs) of wheat to pay for that supper.

🌽is $3.90 so that’s 13.6 bu (762 lbs) of corn to pay for supper. Cheers!🥃

All month we’ve been trucking corn and milo! The corn is going to Midwest Feeders, and the milo is going to WindRiver Grain.

Hauling to Midwest Feeders has gone pretty smooth overall. WindRiver, on the other hand, has been a little different 😅 Sometimes we get through the facility quickly, and other times we are waiting an hour or longer.

Milo Harvest was one for the books! Couldn’t have asked for a better crew!

Hey there, bud, want a little fall harvest tidbit eh? - During corn harvest and the beginning of milo harvest, we had our good buddy Cyril come down from Canada to help out. (We met Cyril several years ago when he was on a custom harvest crew that we were using.) He drove 1,400+ miles one way to help out. We appreciated his help! Seth & Bryce love to chirp him when his hockey team loses. Sorrey buddy😉

This year marked an unusually late start for our fall harvest. Last year, we COMPLETED the milo harvest on November 1st. This year, we STARTED the milo harvest on November 2nd😆

Little update as we approach the halfway mark of August. It’s been an exciting and busy month to say the least!

8/2/25 - Seth & Ava got married!🥂

8/14/25 - Ethan started his senior year of high school!🤯

On the farm… we have been hauling wheat to Grain Craft in McPherson. S/O to Bill Killen, Jared Fellhoelter, and Bryce for keeping the trucks rolling!

Finally, big thanks to the guys in the shop Chuck & Harold for getting equipment ready for fall harvest. They do a phenomenal job maintaining our equipment!
