Thank you for supporting local agriculture! After the market closed, the hard working animals of Level Green Farm took the afternoon off for some relaxing. We're still working on the sheep barn and it's coming together nicely. We look forward to seeing you all next weekend!

💐Happy Mother's Day Weekend! 🍞Fluffy White Bread and Cinnamon Buns coming out of the farm kitchen today! The meat freezer 🐖and egg 🥚and dairy fridges 🥛are looking good with some amazing meal options this week. New faces on the farm include Cinnamon's bucklings 🐐and our Dorper sheep flock. 🐏🐑🐑🐑🐑Please note, sheep are not quite like our friendly and playful market goats, please admire them from afar as you drive up the lane. 🙂 Finally a quick note about goat milk: unfortunately we do not feel our gals are ready to be milked yet after their recent stress. We do understand that this is disappointing, but want to prioritize their health and condition. They may need to sit this season out. Cinnamon has had a pretty good day. She's is the mommy to two healthy bucklings, Thor (darker) and Loki (lighter). She is doing well but hasn't passed the placenta yet, though its still early. Kids are strong and nursing well and she's being a very attentive mommy as usual. Update: she cleared her placenta well and all are doing great this evening

😃🐑🐏🐑🐑🐑 Meet the Dorpers... these beautiful and well conditioned sheep come to us from Harvest Plantation. Over the next several years, they will be the basis of our meat sheep production, serving as our breeding stock. We are still a year or more away from meat production as we will initially be building our flock size. We expect to also offer some of their offspring as show lambs for our FFA and 4-H community kids. These babies are from exceptional lines and we very excited to welcome them to our pasture. Dorpers are hair sheep and shed naturally as opposed to having to be sheared. As you drive along the lane, you may notice them in different stages of fleece breaking. We'll post more about them and how they are acclimating soon. A big thank you to Harvest Plantation for their work to establish and maintain and exception flock for show, milk, and meat.
