New Ādaži Icelandic Chickens

January was a tough month on our farm. Our next door neighbor’s dog got into our flock and killed half of our birds, including most of our favorite speckled Icelandics. It’s heartbreaking to see the flock so small now. Sadly, this wasn’t the first time, and it’s hard not to worry about it happening again.

We were moving hay for our horses when we noticed a nest with eggs. Next to the eggs were two chicks that obviously didn't make it. We never thought we would see chicks in the middle of November. 🥺😞
