just wrapped its very first race at High Desert 100 — and we’re coming home with a 3rd‑place podium finish out of six Bugs!
We weren’t the fastest out there, but we finished! The rain helped knock the dust down, the track was rough, but Tom built one incredibly solid, reliable Bug that took every lap like a champ.
Huge thank‑you to the racers who welcomed me in, shared pointers, and made this first‑timer feel like part of the lineup.
As a brand‑new driver and co‑driver team, I can say without hesitation: I had the best co‑driver out there. She kept eyes on the rear‑view, called out where to go (and where not to go), made recommendations, pulled the lap tape like a pro… and even sang to me a few times! That’s real teamwork...and friendship.
