Race weekend recap: we started with Red Lightning shearing right side header collector bolts during qualifying which led to loud backfiring. Checked it out after and I had gear l**e from the front diff all over the engine bay, I over filled it. Spent the rest of Friday getting that fixed up and also decided to lower the floats in the carb.
Karen was first to race and she was doing a great job running a solid 3rd place. 4th place car Alexa Cologne started with some problems but got back running but not really making up much ground. Then Lightning Bug got stuck on a climb and once out wouldn't refire. After some trouble shooting it came down to points failure, we will be switching to Petronix. All the suspension changes worked out great Karen even got it up to 56 MPH!!
Red Lightnings race we bogged at the start so our friend Nathan McDonald jumped out in front. We were staying close until we ran out of fuel, my lowering of the floats made it so we couldn't go full throttle. We did get fired back up and had to pass a couple cars to get back to 3rd. Not our best and close to our worst race but being able to nurse it and finish 3rd put Red Lightning at 14 start/finishes and 13 podiums in a small class (4-6 cars per race)
