Winnie looks absolutely adorable in her sweater!

When the rabbits need their winter shearing, we offer them a knit sweater and additional straw in their hutch. Our rabbits also enjoy heated waterers so they don’t have to spend extra energy warming up drinking cold water.

Winnie is a very sweet and loving rabbit. We absolutely love her snuggles every day! 🥰

If you live in Delta County and have an untreated Christmas tree, our alpacas would LOVE additional nibbles in their pasture. Tree drop off available at the farm. Shoot us a message so we know you’re coming! 😁

🎄🎄🎄CHRISTMAS TREES!!!

I see quite a few posts online about feeding Christmas trees to alpacas, as everyone is turfing theirs unceremoniously out of their houses!! One year I asked Camelid Nutrition guru Bob Van Saun about this...

He said that the needles are of reasonable nutrient composition and don't pose any health issues. The only toxic Christmas type tree that he was aware of was the Ponderosa Pine - although that doesn't look like it would ever be used as a Christmas tree.

Do always be aware that because Christmas trees are sold by a wide variety of merchants and have to be indoors for extended periods of time looking lovely, some retailers may sell treated trees. Check to make sure that yours isn't treated with any chemicals if you feel like offering it to your animals.

Also remember that too much of anything different can sometimes caught gut upset, so don't feed too much at once! One tree among a bunch is probably going to be fine...

PS I'd also suggest taking the ornaments off first, unlike the AI that created this image!! ;)

Welcome to Kush & Pronk Farm: Misses Thelma and Louise!

Thelma (left) and Louise (right) came to the farm from Almost Home Animal Shelter in Quinnesec, MI. Due to angora’s specific grooming care and nutritional needs, the shelter was generous in allowing these beautiful ladies the opportunity to join our other angora rabbits. If able, we encourage you to donate to your local animal shelter. Several of our animals have come from shelters and we are always grateful for the incredible need they fill in every community.

RAPID RIVER — A local couple is working to bring a fiber mill to the Upper Peninsula. Dominic and Jennifer Guzzetta, owners of Kush and Pronk Farm in Rapid River, recently posted a survey on social media, seeking feedback from the community to see if there is interest and/or support for a fiber mi...

What do normal people do on blizzard days?! We don’t know because we decided it was the perfect day to tear down the dividing wall between our kitchen and living room and remove the first of three layers of flooring in the kitchen to FINALLY work on the “nice” remodel of the house and not just the “survival-mode” remodel we’ve been running on for the last two years. Dominic also got the old furnace removed so we can install a pantry! We can’t wait to have full wood floors and walls, all from downed and milled trees from our land 🥰 The animals are the first to say they appreciate the more open floor plan and increased wood stove access 😻
