As a mother, I have always wanted to teach my children the importance of hard work, perseverance, and taking care of your part of the world in whatever way you are called and entrusted. When we started Loleta Farms, we knew that it had the potential to teach them all of these things...and it is becoming far more than we could have ever imagined.
Our kids are involved in the work every day—from milking and bottling to delivering products to retail partners. They have seen us have to push through challenges and remain faithful in the heaviest of circumstances that have, at times, made us question our why.
And every time, we come back to the fact that we truly believe this is where we are called to serve and do life. We hope that our children look back on this time and remember more than just the chores and hard work. It really is about building something that will last for generations to come and be a business that gives back to the world in a meaningful way.
You see, we named Loleta Farms after my grandmother, who was pivotal in my life. She was genuine, cared deeply about her people and her community, and was the living embodiment of being a light to others. And today, I believe our farm is not just a micro dairy in North Idaho. We are a small farm on a big mission to be a light in a world that can sometimes feel very dark.
