Wow, 10 Years! It's hard to believe it's been that long. We officially became a business on Sept 15, 2016. Come celebrate with us! Our gift to you is pictured on the poster and is active now through September 15, in person or online. We hope you'll take advantage of the opportunity to get an extra bag or two.
Over the years we've popped around 40 tons of popcorn. We've met thousands of popcorn lovers. We've had the honor of helping brides, grooms, and their families celebrate weddings. We've provided snacks for baby showers, reunions, conferences, and banquets. And orchards, pumpkin patches, wineries, and boutiques all over the state have shared our popcorn with their visitors. We've also put a lot of popcorn on grocery store and convenience stores over the years. We've shipped over 1000 packages of popcorn all over the US and to military personnel overseas. It has been a blessing to work with so many great people. And all of that has been an important part of what we do.
But from the beginning our mission has been twofold: 1) To create Delicious Gourmet Popcorn that brings families and friends together and 2) to help others. Through our fundraising options, we've helped scouts pay for camp, student council members attend convention, yearbook clubs upgrade their books, bands fund trips, drama clubs pay for scripts, cheerleaders buy uniforms, and we've helped many students and their families support their school.
We've also supported lots of local fundraisers with gift baskets and other items for their banquets or silent auctions.
But one of the biggest ways we've helped our community is by hiring people. We've supported young employees by giving them their first job and helping them build habits that will help them achieve success in life. We've helped them buy their first car, pay for college or other schools, have a little extra income to be able to do some fun things, plus learn how to manage what they earn wisely. It has been a joy to see the high school kids come in to our popping family, grow, and move on to do great things. Our former employees are now teachers (several), nurses and caregivers (several), Information Technology specialists (2), a music teacher, a veterinarian, a natural resources officer, military members (2), construction workers, welders, mechanics, sales and marketing specialists, moms, dads, grandmas, designers, and we even had one become a commercial pilot! It is humbling to get to be part of watching them learn to serve and then take that helpful attitude into their future professions.
Thanks for helping make that possible. Ten years of lives changed, days brightened, and bringing family and friends together. It's doesn't get much better than that. We couldn't have done it without you. Here's to many more!
Our humble shop in Raymond is located on Illinois Route 48, across from Dollar General. We are open Monday through Friday (yes, Labor Day too!) 9 am to 5pm, and Saturdays 10am to 3pm.
